James van Wyk Question 25 February, 2026 9:15 am
Good day, With reference to the Technical Specifications document, page 12, item 3.4 — the specification calls for "24-port managed switches (Cisco or equivalent)". Could you please clarify: 1. Will the Municipality accept Juniper EX2300 series as an equivalent? 2. Must the switches support PoE+ (802.3at) or is standard PoE (802.3af) sufficient for the access points? Thank you for your assistance. Regards, Mzansi Building Supplies
Thandi Mabaso Official Response 26 February, 2026 2:30 pm
Dear Bidder, Thank you for your query. 1. Yes, the Juniper EX2300 series is acceptable as an equivalent, provided it meets the minimum specifications outlined in section 3.4 of the Technical Specifications document. 2. PoE+ (802.3at) is required as the specified Wi-Fi 6 access points draw up to 25.5W. Please ensure your pricing reflects PoE+ capable switches. Regards, Thandi Nkosi SCM Manager
